DPF, EGR and AdBlue removal — owner's responsibility
We provide DPF, EGR and AdBlue delete calibrations on the clear understanding that any resulting use of the vehicle is entirely at the owner's discretion and risk. It is the owner's responsibility to ensure the vehicle is used lawfully, insured correctly and complies with all applicable MOT, emissions and roadworthiness requirements in their jurisdiction. Mids Tuning accepts no responsibility or liability for how the vehicle is used, driven or presented for test after the work is carried out.
The road-legal alternative — recommended for daily-driven cars
For daily-driven diesels we still recommend a road-legal Stage 1 or Stage 2 remap that keeps every emissions component fully functional. You get a healthier mid-range, better MPG on cruise, and cleaner regens — with your hardware intact and your MOT/insurance position undisturbed. Ask us honestly what's right for your situation and we'll give you a straight answer before you book.
Common diesel jobs we see
1.6 & 2.0 TDI VAG (Golf, Passat, A3, A4, Q5), 1.5/1.6/2.0 dCi Renault/Nissan/Dacia, 1.5/2.0/2.2 TDCi Ford, 1.6 HDi PSA (Peugeot/Citroën/Ford), 3.0 BMW M57/N57, 2.0/2.2 Vauxhall CDTi. Each has known weak points and each responds beautifully to a properly-scoped calibration.
DPF problems: what's actually going wrong
A DPF warning light rarely means the filter itself has failed. Far more often the regeneration is being blocked — by short journeys that never get the exhaust hot enough, a faulty differential pressure sensor, a sticking EGR valve, a glow plug or thermostat fault, or oil dilution from repeated aborted regens. Our mobile diagnostic reads soot and ash load, pressure-sensor plausibility, regen history and the live data behind it, so you get the real cause and a sensible fix — often a forced regen and a sensor rather than a £1,500 filter.
DPF / EGR across Derby
Derby is an engineering city, and Derby drivers ask better questions than most — about torque curves, EGT limits and what the data-log actually shows. We like that. Daily commuters on the A38 and A50 want a Stage 1 that fills in the mid-range and settles the DSG or 8-speed auto; tradespeople in Sinfin, Alvaston and Spondon want their Transporter or Vivaro to pull properly when loaded; and performance owners in Allestree, Mickleover and Darley Abbey want Stage 2 calibrations with hardware-matched boost and logged proof of the result.
